Boy Scout Troop 303 Attended Fall Camp-O-Ree

Dahlonega, GA OCTOBER 12th-14th – BSA Troop 303 took nine scouts to participate in the Etowah District Boy Scout Fall Camp-O-Ree in Dawsonville, hosted by Troop 39. Some of the outdoor events at the Klondike Derby included:
- Sled Construction
- Scout Dog Sled Race
- Snow Blindness
- Send for the Doctor (Signaling for help & 1st Aid)
- Gold Panning
- Find the Geezers Gold (Compass Work)
- Man through the Ice (Fire building, 1st Aid, and shelter building)
- Crossing the River (Building a Monkey Building)
- Norwegian Cross Country Skiing Race
- Stake Your Claim (Lashing & Pole Building)
- Klondike Bar eating contest (Scoutmaster/Senior Patrol Leader)
Troop 303, sponsored by Dahlonega Baptist Church and Lumpkin Family Connection, took 1st place in the Snow Blindness event, a group communication challenge. Troop 303 had a wonderful time competing against the other troops from the North Georgia Area. Scouts who participated this weekend were: Davis Gabriel, Cory Powell, Trey Greer, Anthony Bennett, Paul Falk, Jesse Bagwell, Andrew Swain, Phoenix Hansen and Jacob Walden.
