Dahlonega, GA June 1st -7th – BSA Troop 303 took 8 local Scouts to enjoy the summer programs at Camp Woodruff. Troop 303 participated in the following outdoor learning sessions during the week: Mountain Man Program, Rifle Shooting, Archery, Shotgun Shooting, Small Boats Sailing, Woodcarving, Photography, Leatherwork, Swimming, Communications, Environmental Science, First Aid, Citizen of World, and Cooking.
The troop enjoyed a rafting trip down the Nanthahala River on Tuesday, climbing on the COPE course and climbing tower, Shooting Shotguns, playing Ultimate Frisbee, and meeting troops and scouts from different states. During the week Troop 303, sponsored by Dahlonega Baptist Church, earned the “2008 Ranger Award”. Scouts who participated were: Luke Hebert, Jacob Walden, Nick Gooch, Danny Niconovich, Eric Niconovich, Michael Pierce, Anthony Bennett, and Phoenix Hansen.
