No regular meeting on April 2 (spring break)
No Youth Leader Meeting in April

Meeting Notes:
Camp cards were distributed to each Scout in attendance. The cards sell for $10 each and the Scout earns $4 for each one he sells. Cards or money must be turned in! If you lose your cards, you will be expected to pay $100 (the cost of the 10 cards issued to each Scout). To minimize loss, Mr. Scotty asked that you turn in the money each week for the cards you have sold that week. If you need more cards, contact Mr. Scotty so he can get them.

March 26 will be both Scoutmaster Conferences and Boards of Review. Scouts needing a SMC or a Board must sign up on the Board prior to March 26. Scouts must be in full Class A uniform (including pants and shirt) for all SMCs and Boards.

TASTE of the Mountains is March 29. Anyone who signed up to work please be sure you arrive on time in Class A uniform.

Pack 357 Crossover will also be March 29. If you are not working at TASTE, it is requested that you attend the crossover. Please e-mail Mr. Scotty if you can help. Crossover will be held at Uncle Shuck’s Corn Maze at 7:00PM.

March 31-April 1 PowWow Fundraiser – an email went out to theTroop on Tuesday, March 20 with sign up information. Please respond to this email as soon as possible. Adults are also needed and will receive credit for time spent working.

  • Monday, January 17, 2011 – 6:00 PM – Court of Honor at DBC Fellowship Hall
  • It’s time for our Annual Troop Recharter! Our Annual Troop Recharter is due on January 21st. Troop 303 Annual Dues for the 2011 year are $65 per scout and $15 per adult leader.These troop dues cover:BSA annual registration fee, Subscription to Boy’s Life for the Troops, other outdoor magazines and guide for books, Accident insurance per scout or adult leader, Funds that go to the Troop Budget for equipment, gear, supplies, and individual awards during the year.

We need your annual dues ASAP. You may pay the full $65 before December 6th or break it into 3 payments of $22 each (The first payment is due before the December 6th, second payment due on January 24th, and third on Feb 14th.) Only scouts and adult leaders that have paid their annual dues and their scout accounts are paid up will be chartered on January 21st.

It’s time for our Annual Troop Recharter! Our Annual Troop Recharter is due on January 21st. Troop 303 Annual Dues for the 2011 year are $65 per scout and $15 per adult leader.
These troop dues cover:

* BSA annual registration fee
* Subscription to Boy’s Life for the Troops, other outdoor magazines and guide for books.
* Accident insurance per scout or adult leader
* Funds that go to the Troop Budget for equipment, gear, supplies, and individual awards during the year.

We need your annual dues on or before December 6th. You may pay the full $65 before December 6th or break it into 3 payments of $22 each (The first payment is due before the December 6th, second payment due on January 24th, and third on Feb 14th.) Only scouts and adult leaders that have paid their annual dues and their scout accounts are paid up will be chartered on January 21st.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a good break from school / work. We only have a couple of weeks left in this Scouting year and there is much to be done. Please make note of the following dates and activities and mark your calendars to attend as many of them as possible. Note that some dates have changed!

DUES:
It is time to pay dues for the upcoming year. Annual cost for Scouts is $65 and for Scouters (registered adult leaders) is $10. Dues can be paid in up to three installments between now and March 1, 2011. Dues cover Northeast Georgia Council registration, Boy Scout Insurance (for injuries which occur during an official Boy Scout function), and a subscription to Boys Life magazine (by request only). Your dues also help offset the cost of Scouting events. To pay your dues or make payment arrangements, please see Jennifer Head as soon as possible.

Monday November 22 – Thanksgiving Break -
NO SCOUT MEETING
Welcome to all the new Scouts and parents who have joined us in the past few weeks. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! We can all be reached via e-mail, phone or at the meetings, and want to help you become comfortable in your new Troop. I will send out a roster to everyone in the next few weeks, once all of the Cub Scout packs have crossed over, but for now, if you have any questions, if you direct them to Roger or myself, we’ll direct you to the right person.
Luke’s BSA handbook has been missing for quite some time. Will everyone please check to see if they may have taken Luke’s book home by mistake? Please double check the handbook you are using to be sure it is yours.

Congratulations to Grant Lytch and Jimmy Grunfelder who completed their 2nd Class Boards and to Adam Steinberg and Dakota Hester who completed their Scoutmaster Comferences (new boy joining requirements) this evening.

Nov 4 – Boy Scout Roundup – Scouts should plan to be at the Pit from 3-5:30. We’ll be setting up and having some troop fun and fellowship time. Pizza and drinks will be served for scouts and adult leaders at 4:45. Round-Up is 5:30-7:30. Please invite a friend to join us. Events will be:

Troop News & Updates (10/25/10)

I apologize for not getting last week’s update out on time. There are some new dates and important information in this update . . . please read carefully.

Nov 1 – we will complete the Construction merit badge (except for the personal project). If you have completed your personal project, please bring it so Scotty can sign off on it. Remember that this badge must be completed by 12/31/10, so it’s important to get started on your project very soon.

Nov 4 – Boy Scout Roundup – Scouts should plan to be at the Pit from 3-5:30. We’ll be setting up and having some troop fun and fellowship time. Pizza and drinks will be served for scouts and adult leaders at 4:45. Round-Up is 5:30-7:30. Please invite a friend to join us. Events will be:

  • The idea of meeting on Monday Nights during the Summer Months is being discussed (June and July). If you interested, email Martha Passman <mpassman@windstream.net>.
  • Parent Evaluations. We would like to hear you thoughts. Please complete a troop evaluations attached and return it to the Scoutmaster.
  • Please continue to remember Davis in your prayers.
  • June 1 at 6:30pm: Parent meeting & Troop Committee Meeting at Scout Hut (Dad’s, we need you to volunteer to lead an outing next year.)
  • Thanks to Jennifer Head & Allyson Davis for leading the May 16 Orienteering Event at Dukes Creek.

  • June 1 at 6:30pm: Parent meeting & Troop Committee Meeting at Scout Hut (Dad’s, we need you to volunteer to lead an outing next year.)
  • An overnight camping trip is being planned for Thursday  June 3- Friday June 4 2010 to Raven’s Cliff Falls, Chattahoochee National Forest.
  • Plans are to leave the Dahlonega Baptist Church on Thursday June 3 at 11:30 am  and return to the church on Friday June 4 by 2 pm.  This is a primitive campground that we will need to hike to, so be aware as you pack your gear, there is no access to drive down and unload.  The fee for this camp is $20.
