  • Attention Life Scouts: The Eagle Service Project Workbook has been changed! Please use this information for your project.
  • CampORee was a great success for Troop 303. 1st place Archery, 1st place football events, 1st place pumpkin chunkin accuracy, 1st place pumpkin chunkin overall, 1st place pumpkin carving, 2nd place scoutmaster chili cook off and 3rd place overall camporee. An accident left George Albert with a broken wrist . . . George, hope it heals fast!!!
  • T-Shirt Design Contest: We need new Troop t-shirts and are asking the Scouts to design them. Scouts have until November 1 to submit their designs to Scotty. Get creative and design the new Troop 303 t-shirt!
  • White Christmas: CHP’s White Christmas benefits our entire community by helping to keep people from being hungry. CHP is asking the Scouts of Lumpkin County (Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and Brownies) to help out this year by donating boxed caked mix and canned icing to White Christmas. Donations can be left at the Scout Hut anytime between now and December 3. The patrol donating the most items will receive a special treat – be sure to let Betsy know when you make a donation so she can mark it on your patrol’s sheet.   • Annual dues are being collected now, and must be paid in full by January. Scouts whose accounts are more than 60 days in arrears may be restricted from attending outings.
  • 2012 Summer Camp: Plans are already underway for Summer Camp! Please let Jennifer Head or Betsy Chaput know if you are planning to go. Payments can be made to Jennifer Head at any time – please designate “Summer Camp” on your payment.
  • Uniforms Available: We have a few of the old (green) t-shirts left. The are available for $10 from Jennifer Head. We also have a significant number of Scout shorts which are available at no cost. Please let Jennifer know if you are interested.
  • Citizenship in the World Merit Badge Class: Jennifer Head will offer this Eagle Required merit badge at the Scout Hut at 2:00PM on Sunday, December 4 . Please email her at bjhead@windstream.net if you are interested.
  • Please wear your Class A Uniform and bring your Scout handbook each Monday night.

If you do not wish to attend the rafting trip please let Betsy or Jennifer know so we can adjust our numbers as necessary.

We have 5 open Scout slots left for camp, we need to know by March 1, 2011 if you wish to go to camp.  If not, we will need to drop those 5 extra slots.

We had 15 adults at the Troop Committee Meeting last night. There are some wonderful things going on behind the scene to continue to make this a great Troop. Next meeting is Feb 7th at DBC Fellowship Hall.

  • Monday, January 17, 2011 – 6:00 PM – Court of Honor at DBC Fellowship Hall
  • It’s time for our Annual Troop Recharter! Our Annual Troop Recharter is due on January 21st. Troop 303 Annual Dues for the 2011 year are $65 per scout and $15 per adult leader.These troop dues cover:BSA annual registration fee, Subscription to Boy’s Life for the Troops, other outdoor magazines and guide for books, Accident insurance per scout or adult leader, Funds that go to the Troop Budget for equipment, gear, supplies, and individual awards during the year.

We need your annual dues ASAP. You may pay the full $65 before December 6th or break it into 3 payments of $22 each (The first payment is due before the December 6th, second payment due on January 24th, and third on Feb 14th.) Only scouts and adult leaders that have paid their annual dues and their scout accounts are paid up will be chartered on January 21st.

    • Dues should be given to our Treasurer, Jennifer Head.
    • Betsy Chaput will be working on completing our troop recharter paperwork.
  • January 22nd: Advance-A-Rama at NGCSU. We have 24 people signed-up at this point. See Allyson David for details.
  • May 30- June 4th National Youth Leadership Training (First Class and up.) (See Roger Greer for details.)

Cost is $280 for Scouts and $150 for leaders
Payments can be split, but 1/2 must be paid by January 24 and the balance by April 18.

* Friday, December 3 at 6:30 PM Pack 36 Crossover at Parks & Rec Please let Mrs. Passman know on November 29 whether you will attend. All Troop members must be in Class A uniform for this.

* Monday, December 6 – 6:00PM – Meeting at Scout Hut (Troop elections) Last regular meeting for the year! All blue cards must be turned in tonight for the January Court of Honor.
* Thursday, December 9 – Bowling Party @ Yonah Bowl & Skate in Cleveland. Meet at the Scout Hut at 6:00 to ride in the church vans or to caravan. There is room for 18 Scouts in the vans so some parents will need to drive personal cars. E-mail Jennifer Head, BJHead@windstream.net if you plan to attend.

It’s time for our Annual Troop Recharter! Our Annual Troop Recharter is due on January 21st. Troop 303 Annual Dues for the 2011 year are $65 per scout and $15 per adult leader.
These troop dues cover:

* BSA annual registration fee
* Subscription to Boy’s Life for the Troops, other outdoor magazines and guide for books.
* Accident insurance per scout or adult leader
* Funds that go to the Troop Budget for equipment, gear, supplies, and individual awards during the year.

We need your annual dues on or before December 6th. You may pay the full $65 before December 6th or break it into 3 payments of $22 each (The first payment is due before the December 6th, second payment due on January 24th, and third on Feb 14th.) Only scouts and adult leaders that have paid their annual dues and their scout accounts are paid up will be chartered on January 21st.

* Dues should be given to our Treasurer, Jennifer Head.

* Betsy Chaput will be working on completing our troop recharter paperwork.

Payments can be split, but 1/2 must be paid by January 24 and the balance by April 18.

New parents transitioning from Webelos might want to consider attending the Scouting 101 so you can learn what to expect from your BOY Scout experience. Scouting 101 is free unless you want lunch and then it’s $8.50 ($13.50 after January 3).
